Cookies and consent, stated plainly.
This page explains the storage used by bsofn.com and the advertising traffic that reaches it. Sons of Norway Bothell Lodge receives paid traffic from Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads. You can read the site before choosing Allow or Decline.
Notice 01
What date does this notice cover?
This notice takes effect on October 10, 2026 and describes the controls operating on this site.
Bothell Lodge uses this website for public information, cultural learning information and inquiries. It does not take membership payment or process the national membership registration. To join, a visitor follows the route to sofn.com.
The page remains available when optional storage is declined. The choice controls storage and consent signals, not access to the lodge information.
Notice 02
What kinds of storage are used?
Strictly necessary storage supports site functions, analytics measures visits after permission, and advertising storage supports campaign measurement after permission.
Strictly necessary storage
The browser stores the consent choice under site_consent_v2. A support-chat token is also kept in the browser so an open conversation can be returned to. These records support the controls you ask the site to provide.
Analytics storage
Analytics storage is denied until the visitor allows storage. It can measure visits after that choice. It is not needed to read the pages, call the lodge, send an inquiry or visit sofn.com.
Advertising storage
Advertising storage supports measurement connected with paid campaigns. It does not create an account, ask for ancestry or membership eligibility, take a payment, or turn an inquiry into a binding quote.
Notice 03
Which storage keys and identifiers matter?
This table separates the local consent and chat records from click identifiers controlled by advertising platforms.
| Name | Who sets it | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| site_consent_v2 | Sons of Norway Bothell Lodge | Remembers whether optional storage is allowed or declined. | 12 months |
| Chat token | Sons of Norway Bothell Lodge | Returns the visitor to a support conversation started in the widget. | Until the chat record expires or local storage is removed |
| gclid | Google Ads | Identifies a Google advertising click for campaign measurement. | Handled by Google under its policy |
| msclkid | Microsoft Advertising | Identifies a Microsoft advertising click for campaign measurement. | Handled by Microsoft under its policy |
| fbclid | Meta Ads | Identifies a Meta advertising click where a campaign runs there. | Handled by Meta under its policy |
Platform-controlled identifiers do not have a retention period set by this site. The local consent record lasts 12 months.
Notice 04
What arrives with an advertising click?
Google Ads attaches gclid, Microsoft Advertising attaches msclkid, and Meta Ads attaches fbclid to campaign links.
This live site receives traffic from Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads. The source labels are google ads, microsoft advertising. The identifier can arrive in a link and can help connect a visit with the campaign that sent it. The words gclid, msclkid and fbclid name click identifiers, not membership records.
This site does not ask an advertising visitor for private information about ancestry, eligibility, finances or scholarship applications. It does not claim that any platform has reviewed, approved or verified this site.
Notice 05
How does consent mode v2 handle choice?
Consent Mode v2 holds ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage denied until the visitor allows storage.
Before permission, these four signals are denied: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage. The public pages and local contact details stay available.
When a visitor selects Allow, the consent state updates to granted for the permitted storage choice. When a visitor selects Decline or later withdraws permission, all four signals are set back to denied. Global Privacy Control, including the Sec-GPC header, is honored as an opt-out without asking again.
The advertising tag is present while the consent state is denied. Denial does not mean that the site has no advertising tag. It means the four Consent Mode v2 signals remain denied.
Notice 06
How do I allow or change storage?
Choose Allow or Decline in the banner, then use Cookie choices in the footer when you want to change the decision.
Allow grants the optional consent update. Decline keeps ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage denied. Neither option blocks the public pages, contact details or the external registration route.
Change your choice now.
These controls update the same preference stored under site_consent_v2.
To withdraw permission, select Cookie choices in the footer and then select Decline storage. Clearing browser storage or changing devices can make the banner appear again.
Notice 07
What still works after I decline?
Declining optional storage leaves the useful parts of the website open.
You can read about Sons of Norway membership in Bothell, Norwegian cultural heritage learning, language classes, dance, crafts, camps, scholarships, sport and recreation. Ordinary links, the inquiry route and the path to sofn.com continue to work.
Optional advertising and analytics states remain denied. The site does not put a cookie wall in front of the page or ask why you declined.
Notice 08
Where can I read provider policies?
Each advertising platform publishes its own statement for processing under its control.
Google publishes its privacy information at policies.google.com. Microsoft publishes its privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com. Meta publishes its privacy and advertising information through its own policy pages.
Those documents describe external processing. They do not say or imply that Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising or Meta Ads has reviewed, approved or verified this site.
Notice 09
Who answers a cookie question?
Send a specific storage question to the lodge directly.
Email [email protected] or call 425-485-9085. Postal contact is 23905 Bothell Everett Hwy, Bothell, Washington 98021, Bothell, Washington, United States. Name the storage key if your question concerns one entry. Do not send a password or payment information.
For access, correction, deletion or another privacy request, use the data request route. The terms explain the boundary between a lodge inquiry and national membership registration.
